India is a country of great population, and recently it went through the democratic election process, and millions of voters voted in these elections. The election was quite interesting because Narendra Modi and his party, the BJP, claimed that they will won a clear majority in this election, but the result was not the same as their claim.

Their were two group competing this election: one was BJP and other was the Opposition Alliance, named India, and they both were competing each other in this election.
The BJP party, especially Narindara Modi, claimed during his election that he would take around 400+ seats in the upcoming election, but it was shocking for them because they own around 240 seats in the elections, which is quite different from the figure he claimed during the election campaign.
Modi already announced that he is forming the government during his speech with BJP workers, and he also said that we are going to make the government a third time effectively, and nations show belief in BJP.

Even though Narendra Modi claims to form a government, the BJP doesn’t have enough majorities to form a government alone because the number needed to form a government is 272. So in this situation, it is easy for the BJP to form a government until they make some alliance with other parties to form a government, and if they do so, they would not be considered a single stakeholder in the government.
However, the question is still there: will there be a strong PM after this recent election? The answer is no, because in order to be strong, you need to have an absolute majority where you are not dependent on other parties or electables. In the current situation, the BJP doesn’t have the numbers to make a strong government itself. So we can assume that their will be quite a balance of power between the BJP and their opponent parties, or no one can enjoy absolute power.
What lies ahead?
It is hard to predict who will finally form a government because both sides lack the absolute majority to form a government, as both sides are struggling to form a government, but of course a collaboration government with other parties.
However, whoever makes the government would not have absolute power, as absolute power is not considered beneficial for the people of India right now, as we all know that India is the most populous democratic country in the world, where absolute power is not in the favor of people living there. There should be a balance of power between both the government and their opposition, which is positive for citizens, and they showed this with the vote and let them know that no one can exercise absolute power until that is what people in India want them to do.
As Thomas Paine said
No country can be called free if it is governed by an absolute power, and it does not matter whether it is an absolute royal power or an absolute legislative power, as the consequences will be the same for the people.
Let’s hope for India to have a better democracy in the world where people have rights to freedom of choice (both cultural and social), where people live together as a nation beyond their religious affiliations, and where the common people have a better livelihood. As the people of India prove through their votes, they need a balance of power, not just someone who has absolute power to run the country.
