Ismail Haniyeh’s recent assassination is letting the people rethink and reshape themselves. Remember that Ismail Haniyeh was in Iran to participate in the presidential ceremony of the new Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian. This sudden event raises a lot of questions in our minds, for which everyone needs clerical answers.
Ismail Haniyeh was involved in the peace process, which meant he was more interested in peace than any continuous conflict. However, his sudden assassination would definitely put a dent in the peace process that was going on regarding the two-state solution.
This assassination shows that there are some powers who do not want to bring peace and stability due to the fact that if someone who is doing negotiations and interested in peace talks suddenly assassinates, then it means there are some people or groups who do not want to bring peace, which is unfortunate not for the people of the Middle East but for the whole world.
American voice president Kamala Harris shows support for this peace process and wants to resolve this issue, whether it was a sincere approach or part of their election campaign, but still, it was a positive move from her side. The question is, if she was interested in resolving this conflict and supporting the peace process in the Middle East, then who else wants to demolish this peace process?
Although this is hard to answer at this stage, it is still not simple or easy to digest that it was simply an assassination by some specific group, as this assassination has border aims that bring more worries and tension. This sudden happening of course affected the peace process that was going on between two parties but also brought more conflict in the region, which is not beneficial for anyone.
The world needs peace and stability, and conflict should always be avoided by everyone as the world is already going through many crises where people do not have enough food to eat and the poor are living in poverty, a world where we have so much inequality. So under these serious circumstances, any conflict in the world makes the situation worse.
It’s important to bring all the parties to the table and make the peace process fruitful. The key players, e.g., America, China, etc., should come forward and play their leading role in supporting this dialogue and bringing about a solution that is sustainable and long-lasting. There is no better option than peace in the world, and right now, the world needs peace and stability.
